How to Clean Tea Kettle Inside
It’s important to routinely clean a tea kettle to keep it in good condition for many years. Follow these steps to clean the inside of a tea kettle and make sure it is bacteria- and sediment-free.
Method 1: Vinegar and Water Solution
- Fill the tea kettle with equal parts white vinegar and water.
- Leave the solution in the kettle for several hours.
- Pour the solution out and rinse the kettle out with hot water.
- Wash the outside of the kettle with a cloth and soapy water.
Method 2: Lemon and Salt Scrub
- Cut a lemon in half.
- Sprinkle sea salt onto the cut area of the lemon.
- Rub the lemon around the inside of the tea kettle.
- Allow sea salt and lemon to sit in the kettle for 5 minutes.
- Rinse the tea kettle out with hot water.
- Wash the outside of the kettle with a cloth and soapy water.
Method 3: Baking Soda Paste
- Mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda with a generous amount of warm water.
- It should create a thick paste.
- Use a cloth or sponge to rub the paste all around the inside of the kettle.
- Let the paste sit in the kettle for 30 minutes.
- Rinse the kettle out with hot water.
- Wash the outside of the kettle with a cloth and soapy water.
