Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 clove

  • 3-4 tablespoons honey or sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2-3 teaspoons of loose leaf black tea

  1. In a small saucepan, heat 2 cups of water over medium-high heat.
  2. Add cardamom pods, clove, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add honey or sugar and stir until dissolved.
  4. Add milk and bring to a boil again.
  5. Once boiling, add 2-3 teaspoons of loose-leaf black tea. Stir and turn heat to low.
  6. Simmer for 2 minutes, then turn off heat.
  7. Strain the mixture and serve hot.
