How to Make Green Thai Tea

Green Thai tea is a Thai-style tea made from green tea leaves and a blend of spices. It has a sweet, aromatic flavor and is popular both in Thailand and around the world. Here’s how to make your own delicious, authentic green Thai tea at home!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons green tea leaves
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 2 cloves
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 ounces sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Pour the boiling water into a large pot and add the green tea leaves. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the brown sugar, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea and discard the leaves and spices. Return the tea to the pot and stir in the condensed milk.
  4. Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and let the tea cool before serving.

Tips

  • Green Thai tea also tastes great with a pinch of black pepper or ground nutmeg.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
  • Serve chilled for a refreshing summer drink.

Enjoy your homemade, delicious green Thai tea!
