How to Make Green Thai Tea
Green Thai tea is a Thai-style tea made from green tea leaves and a blend of spices. It has a sweet, aromatic flavor and is popular both in Thailand and around the world. Here’s how to make your own delicious, authentic green Thai tea at home!
Ingredients
- 3 cups boiling water
- 3 tablespoons green tea leaves
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 2 cloves
- 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and finely chopped
- 4 ounces sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Pour the boiling water into a large pot and add the green tea leaves. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the brown sugar, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and discard the leaves and spices. Return the tea to the pot and stir in the condensed milk.
- Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and let the tea cool before serving.
Tips
- Green Thai tea also tastes great with a pinch of black pepper or ground nutmeg.
