How to Make Iced Tea in a Pitcher

Iced tea is a refreshing summertime drink. When served in a pitcher, it makes a big batch for an easy-to-serve thirst quencher at a family gathering. Here’s how to make iced tea in a pitcher in three easy steps.

Ingredients:

  • 5 large tea bags
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • 4 cups cold water

Instructions:

  1. Pour the boiling water into a 2-qt. glass pitcher.
  2. Add the tea bags and sugar. Allow to steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and add the cold water, stirring to dissolve any remaining sugar. Chill and serve over ice, if desired.

If you would like a stronger, more concentrated tea, use fewer cups of cold water. And if you’d like, add 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a lemon twist on the refreshing drink. Now you have a big pitcher of iced tea – perfect for a party!
