  • 1 cup salted butter, room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sifted powdered sugar, plus more for coating
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts


  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream the butter until it is light and fluffy. Add the sugar and vanilla extract and beat until combined.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until incorporated. Stir in the walnuts.
  4. Using a teaspoon, scoop the dough and roll into balls. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly brown on the edges.
