How to Make Tea-Infused Ice Cream
Ice cream is one of the most popular desserts. By adding tea-infusions, you can create delicious and unique flavors that everyone will love. Here are the steps you need to take to make tea-infused ice cream:
Step 1: Prepare the Tea
- Choose the tea you would like to use. Most teas, such as green tea, black tea, and chai, work great in ice cream recipes.
- Heat 1 cup of water to the recommended brewing temperature for your tea. You can find this information on the packaging.
- Steep the tea for the recommended amount of time, usually 2-3 minutes. Don’t steep for much longer, as the infusion may become too bitter.
- Strain the tea, discarding the leaves.
Step 2: Make the Ice Cream Base
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together 2 cups of heavy cream and one cup of whole milk.
- Pour in the steeped tea and stir to combine.
- Add 1/2 cup of sugar and a pinch of salt.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and let cool.
Step 3: Freeze the Ice Cream
- Once the ice cream base has cooled, pour it into an ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer’s directions.
- Once the ice cream has finished freezing, transfer it to an airtight container and place in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
- Scoop the tea-infused ice cream into bowls and enjoy!
