How to Prepare Chai Tea
Chai tea is a popular Indian drink made of black tea, herbs, spices, and milk. It is usually served hot and can be enjoyed with some sweets.
Ingredients
- 2 Cups of Water
- 1-2 Teaspoons of Black Tea Leaves
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Cardamom
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Nutmeg
- 2-3 Peppercorns
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
- 2 Tablespoons of Honey or Sugar
- 2 Cups of Milk
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, add the water and bring it to a boil.
- Once boiling, stir in the black tea leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, peppercorns, and ginger.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the honey or sugar and the milk.
- Continue to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Strain the tea using a fine-mesh sieve into mugs.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
