How to Prepare Chai Tea

Chai tea is a popular Indian drink made of black tea, herbs, spices, and milk. It is usually served hot and can be enjoyed with some sweets.


  • 2 Cups of Water
  • 1-2 Teaspoons of Black Tea Leaves
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Cardamom
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Nutmeg
  • 2-3 Peppercorns
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
  • 2 Tablespoons of Honey or Sugar
  • 2 Cups of Milk


  1. In a medium saucepan, add the water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, stir in the black tea leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, peppercorns, and ginger.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the honey or sugar and the milk.
  5. Continue to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Strain the tea using a fine-mesh sieve into mugs.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
