How to Remove Tea Stains
Tea stains can be one of the more difficult substances to remove from fabric, but the good news is that it’s possible to tackle those stubborn stains head-on. Here are a few methods to help you remove tea stains from clothing, carpets, and furniture:
Soaking & Washing
- Soak the stained garment/area in a solution of water and baking soda for up to an hour.
- Rinse the area and then wash as usual in your washing machine with a detergent.
- If the stain remains, repeat these two steps.
Using White Vinegar
- Mix together equal parts white vinegar and cold water.
- Soak the stained area in this solution for up to an hour.
- After soaking, rinse the area and then wash as usual in your washing machine with a detergent.
- If the stain remains, repeat these two steps.
Using Detergent & Hot Water
- Mix together one tablespoon of a liquid detergent such as Dawn, and one cup of hot water.
- In a separate bowl, spoon together one teaspoon of white vinegar and one cup of warm water.
- Wet the stained area and sponge the detergent solution onto the area, then blot with a clean cloth.
- Rinse with the white vinegar mixture.
- If the stain remains, repeat these steps.
