How to Set the Table for a Tea Party
Gathering the Necessary Items
In order to successfully create an aesthetic display of your tea party, you will need to be prepared with the required materials. These items include:
- Tablecloth
- Saucers for each place setting
- Tea cups and tea spoons
- Sugar bowl and cream Pitcher
- Napkins and small plates for food
- Centerpieces
- Silverware
Setting the Table
Once you have gathered all of the required items, it is time to get styling! Begin by placing the tablecloth down on your tea party table, creating an attractive backdrop to your setting.
Next, place a saucer at the top of each place setting and add a tea cup and spoon. The sugar bowl and cream pitcher should be placed in the center of the table, easily accessible to each guest.
Aside from the main items, your silverware should also be placed at each seat for each guest in attendance. This should include a soup spoon, dinner or salad fork, and dinner knife.
Finishing Touches
To complete the look of your tea party table, add a few decorative features to give it some charm and flair.
Firstly, place a small plate and napkin at each guest’s seat. Don’t forget to include your centerpiece – this could be something like a floral arrangement, candles or a series of votives.
For a truly regal essence to the occasion, provide a finger bowl for each guest. To make these, fill a small bowl or dish with warm, lightly scented water. Include a small flower in each bowl as an added decorative touch.
